Remembering Winima’s Humble Beginnings on eBay and Mercari
Share
Today, when you think of Winima, you probably think of our official website, winima.com. It's our home, our hub, and the place where we showcase our products and connect with our customers. However, what you may not know is that our story didn't start there.
Travel back in time with me to 2019, a different era (pre-covid?) for us. Back then, Winima—or rather, Winima LLC—was finding its footing not on a sleek, branded website, but on the bustling digital marketplaces of eBay and Mercari. It was our first foray into e-commerce, a place where we were just one of many sellers, carving out a small corner for ourselves with our older logo as seen below.
Looking back at our old eBay and Mercari profiles feels like unearthing a time capsule. The screenshots below, showing reviews and sales from over six years ago, are more than just a record of transactions; they're a testament to our early days.
The reviews on eBay were simple, but their message was profound. "Exactly what I ordered. Shipped fast and product was NEW and safely packaged," and "Super fast shipping. Great product." These comments were our first moments of validation, showing that our dedication to quality and service was resonating with customers.
Our journey continued on Mercari, where we also completed sales, including a "NEW 12 Frame Photo Collage Clock" and multiple "NEW SUNBEAM LED DESK LAMP WHITE COLOR" products, as shown in the screenshot of our sales transactions. You can view the reviews from these sales on our Mercari profile at https://www.mercari.com/u/winima/reviews
The money from those sales is long gone, having been reinvested countless times to help us grow into the business we are today. But the feeling those reviews and sales records evoke? That's a different kind of currency. It’s a treasure, a reminder of the hard work and dedication that went into every single package we shipped out from different USPS post offices.
Those early days on eBay and Mercari were a crucial part of our journey. They taught us the importance of customer service, the value of a well-packaged item, and the power of positive feedback. They laid the foundation for the business we've become.
So, while we've moved on from these marketplaces to our own platform, we'll never forget where we started. These old reviews and sales are more than just memories; they're a part of our story, a reminder that every big journey begins with small, meaningful steps. And for that, we’re forever grateful.
